Program's Description
This general introductory course is the first step for individuals seeking to obtain a Security Guard Registration Card and ultimately work as security guards in NY State. In this 8-hour course, students will get a general overview of a security guard’s duties and responsibilities.
Course Length: 8 Hours
Course Type: On-Site (In Person)

To be eligible to be a Security Guard in New York State, you must meet several requirements.
If you cannot achieve these, you will not be admitted to a licensing program. You must:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years old.
- Be a citizen or resident alien of the USA.
- Pass an FBI background check with no serious convictions or felonies.
- Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities.
- Culminate this training and obtain a course completion certificate.
- Students must obtain a score of 70% or higher on the final exam.
- By completing the 8 Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course, students will receive a certificate of completion that must accompany their registration application when submitted to the Department of State.
- Make-up time is not available for this training course; students have to attend all their classes.
